Terms & Conditions

The Grand Closet

1. Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using this website or placing an order. By accessing www.thegrandcloset.co.za (“the Website”) or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1.1 About Us

The Grand Closet will display its registered business name, company registration number, VAT number (where applicable), physical business address, telephone number and contact email on the Website in accordance with applicable South African legislation.

The Grand Closet (“we”, “us”, “our”, “the Business”) is an online retailer of bridal wear, wedding gowns, wedding accessories, trims, fabrics and related products, operating within the Republic of South Africa and shipping to customers nationally (and internationally where stated at checkout).

1.2 Eligibility & Account Use

You must be at least 18 years old, or place an order under the supervision of a person who is, to transact on this Website. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including delivery address, sizing details and contact information, and for keeping any account credentials confidential.

1.3 Products, Descriptions & Customization

We make reasonable efforts to display product colors, fabrics and finishes accurately; however, screen settings and lighting may cause slight variation, and bridal fabrics such as lace, tulle, satin and beadwork may show natural variation between bolts and dye lots.

•           Made-to-order and made-to-measure items are cut and/or embellished based on the measurements or specifications you provide at the time of order.

•           Sample or display items may show minor wear consistent with in-store handling; this will be disclosed on the product listing where applicable.

•           Given the bespoke and occasion-specific nature of bridal wear, we recommend ordering well in advance of your wedding date to allow for production, fitting and any alteration lead times.

1.4 Pricing & Payment

• All online payments are processed through PCI-DSS compliant payment providers using encrypted connections. We never store customers' full payment card details.

•           All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.

•           We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to update prices at any time; the price charged is the price displayed at the time your order is confirmed.

•           Payment is processed through our approved payment gateway partner(s). We do not store your full card details on our servers.

•           An order is only confirmed once payment has been successfully authorized and you have received an order confirmation email.

1.5 Delivery

• Products are subject to availability. If stock becomes unavailable after payment, customers will be offered a replacement, store credit or full refund.

Estimated delivery timelines are provided at checkout and on product pages and may be longer for made-to-order, customized or alteration-inclusive items. Delivery is carried out via our appointed courier partners. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery to the address provided; ownership passes once payment has been received in full.

1.6 Intellectual Property

All content on this Website — including text, images, logos, product photography, garment designs and layout — is owned by or licensed to The Grand Closet and may not be copied, reproduced or used commercially without our prior written consent.

1.7 Limitation of Liability

• We reserve the right to cancel orders where fraud, unauthorized payment, pricing errors or suspicious activity is reasonably suspected.

To the maximum extent permitted by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and other applicable law, The Grand Closet shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the use of this Website or from delays outside our reasonable control (including courier delays, load-shedding, or supplier delays). Nothing in these Terms limits any right or protection you have under South African consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

1.8 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”). Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts, without prejudice to your right to refer a complaint to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) or the National Consumer Commission.

1.9 Changes to These Terms

• Promotional pricing may be amended or withdrawn without notice and cannot be applied retrospectively.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place an order will apply to that order. The current version will always be posted on this Website with its effective date.
